Before you book a demo flight, here are the definitions and conditions that shape our service. These notes remove common misunderstandings about what drone data can and cannot tell you about your fields.

What exactly does a multispectral survey measure?

A multispectral survey captures reflected light in several narrow bands beyond what the human eye sees, including near-infrared. From these bands we calculate vegetation indices like NDVI, which indicate how actively your crop is photosynthesizing. The result is a color-coded map of your field showing relative plant vigor, not a direct diagnosis of any single disease or deficiency.

How is a vegetation index map different from a regular photo?

A regular photo records visible light, which often looks uniform across a healthy field. A vegetation index map compares near-infrared and red reflectance to highlight subtle differences in plant health that are invisible to the naked eye. This lets you spot stress patterns early, before they become visible as yellowing or wilting.

What does "actionable growth recommendation" mean in practice?

After each survey, we deliver a field report that points to specific zones showing stress, along with likely causes such as irrigation gaps, nutrient shortage, or pest pressure. The recommendation tells you which areas to inspect first, what to check on the ground, and which agronomic practice to consider. It is a starting point for your decision, not a substitute for a local agronomist's visit.

How often should I schedule an aerial survey?

For most crops, a survey every two to three weeks during the main growth stages gives enough data to track changes. If you are managing a large commercial block or dealing with a known pest outbreak, weekly flights may be more useful. We can adjust the schedule based on your crop cycle and the specific questions you want answered.

What do I need to prepare before a demo flight?

You need to confirm the field boundaries and ensure there are no overhead power lines or tall structures in the flight area. We also ask for a rough idea of the crop type and sowing date so we can set the right flight altitude and sensor settings. No special technical knowledge is required from your side.

Can drone data replace manual field scouting?

No. Drone surveys are a complement to ground checks, not a replacement. Aerial data helps you prioritize where to walk and what to look at, which saves time and makes scouting more targeted. But final decisions about pesticide application or fertilizer dosing should still be confirmed by inspecting the plants on the ground.

What exactly happens during a drone survey?

No. The drone flies a pre-planned route and captures data automatically. You do not need to operate it or interpret raw imagery. Our team handles flight planning, data processing, and the final report. You receive the results in a format that does not require special software to open.

Do I need to operate the drone myself?

For most fields, we recommend a survey every two to three weeks during the growing season. This cadence catches pest stress and irrigation issues before they become visible. For high-value crops or fields with a history of problems, weekly flights give a tighter safety net.

How often should I schedule a survey?

We fly in most weather conditions except heavy rain, strong wind, or dense fog. The sensor needs clear visibility of the canopy, so overcast days are fine. If conditions are unsuitable on the scheduled day, we reschedule at no extra cost.

Can you fly in any weather?

You receive a vegetation index map, a soil moisture estimate, and a field health report. The report highlights problem zones with coordinates and suggests specific actions like adjusting irrigation, applying fertilizer, or scouting for pests. You also get a comparison with the previous survey if one exists.

What data will I receive after the flight?

Yes. We work with smallholders and commercial growers across different crop types. The survey area and flight plan are adjusted to your field size, crop stage, and the specific questions you want answered. A demo flight on a small plot is the best way to see how the data applies to your situation.
